RTC is a nonprofit organization based in North America dedicated to supporting civil society organizations, women-led organizations and entrepreneurs, HRDs, victims of CTIP, media, women, and the diaspora communities.

NGOs, women-led organizations, media organizations, HRDs, diaspora communities, and activists strive to engage, connect, and come together to achieve shared values and causes while utilizing computers, smartphones, and the internet to seek, store, and exchange information.
In the digital age, “digital rights” is another term for “freedom of expression”.
They frequently become the subject of surveillance, restrictions, tracking, dispersal, and incarceration. While they engage in or seek to connect in an event, their emails do not reach the intended recipients, their social media pages are hacked, their internet connections are patchy, their social media platforms and communication tools are severely monitored, their telephone conversations are heard, their computers and gadgets are seized, and viruses ruin years of their work. The restrictions on digital rights and the violation of the right to privacy are the daily challenges that these target groups struggle with. The digital divide, digitally facilitated repression, violations in the name of security, systemic cyber vulnerability, and digital insecurity are just a few of the challenges that continue to exist for them globally. While every government understands that in the digital age, “digital rights” is another term for “freedom of expression”.
They deserve to be able to handle their daily challenges and have a safer civic space to engage and connect in order to accomplish their shared values and causes. Therefore, we, a group of experts in Canada and the United States of America, joined a cause, “Promoting a safer civic space to engage and connect,” to play our role in addressing these challenges through RIGHT TO CONNECT (RTC).
